Enter the tunnel, darkly deep,
And into shadows where dragons sleep.
A lair in which my light has gone,
No longer fulfilled, no longer strong.
Yet still shining back with mirrored gaze,
Eyes wide open, but out of phase.
Reality eludes me, yet still I cling,
Scraping and clawing my soul into everything.
I will not fall; will not die,
Yet I remain where I lie.
So I stretch out, to dream; to sleep;
At the cliff of slumber, I take that leap.
A freefall of dreams and portents until the dawn;
I awake with sorrows gone.
