The Truth We Hide
By Tom Stanley

As the dream fades, darkness shades, and we all move on with our lives,
Lightning strikes, a flock of shrikes, fly by like knives,
Cutting the air, as we stare, slack jawed and dumb,
Both in voice, and in choice, the wall crumbles leaving us numb,
We melt, oh how it felt, to see the sunrise,
So free, this must be, the dream in other's eyes,
Fear lives, but never gives, it just takes and takes,
Ease the pain, do not feign, we all make mistakes,
Live for joy, it's no ploy, find the peace inside,
Bring it out, it's all about, the truth we hide.
