Life
By Tom Stanley

Here I sit,
Quietly contemplating nothing.
Alone save for the demons that haunt me,
Tearing down what I strive to build.
Build a wall inside,
Hide behind your fears,
And you will be blind,
Regarding the world with unseeing eyes.
You can miss much if you let the world pass you by.
So break down the walls,
Keeping you from what you have built so high,
Towering over you like an ominous monolith of silent justice,
Guiding you to the path.
The path that you lay out for yourself with every action, step and word.
You created this path,
Own up to it,
For it is a winding road with many pitfalls, potholes and switchbacks.
This is the moment that you must realize,
That this path is your life.
