River Evol
By
TimeStop

Where the farmland is quiet and the climate is quaint,
I lie in wonder in this river, so strong, yet so faint.
The aura of the water is dazzling, sparkling so bright.
I see now why I love this place, because it is just that right.
The flies buzz lazily, swarming sans-fear.
I love hearing the sounds of the place I hold so dear.
This is where we met, where our hearts twined as one.
I know now of your deeds, and what you have done.
They say to forgive, forget, let love live.
I was frustrated when it became so hard to do when I gave all I could give.
You left so quickly, saying you'd return.
I keep that in my heart, your love, its burn.

So I can wait, I can wait now.
The current will take me beyond this sole heart.
Love is a tough ground, a field we must sow.
The current will take me back to the start.
I sit here and ponder what we had and have now.
The current will take me, and I will throw love's dart.

Have I hit my target, will you come back?
If I miss, however, my faith will not lack.
Someone touches me on the shoulder, their warm breath cascading over me.
I feel their lips hit the nape of my neck, their hands locking with mine.
A shiver travels down me, the same feeling as before.
I turn around and see you, knowing you're here and wanting more.

I had to wait so long for you to return.
I had someone to support me, they took their turn.
It was not a person, nor a swan or a dove.

But the River Evol, the river of love.
