Poetry

Between the Sword and Pen
By
TimeStop

The stars go across the glassy sky
As I watch them
Their tails wag happily
Like dogs of old
I look to a comet
One wolf above the rest

I sit here
Typing on an inefficient laptop
Losing my spacing,
Losing my grammar.
The only illumination
Comes from the screen
The birds pluck their feathers.
I watch them as they preen.

Writing hasn’t come up,
Hasn’t grasped me with its hand
I await the fated battle
Between the sword and the pen.
The platinum gleams faintly
As I ruthlessly slap the screen
The birds, they pluck their feathers.
I watch them as they preen.

There are no trees outside.
There is only dusk.
Sands whirling like waves
Following a current all their own.
The sea is nonexistent,
It’s all a field of dust.
The rain can fall all it wants,
Won’t do anything.
Create some canals for me
So the words can finally be.

Release the stars
Let loose the clouds
Storms come fly about
Winds wash over me
As the showers quench the drought
The tides come in
As the waves rush out
A grandeur’s in the atmosphere
So let it run around

I look up from the laptop
I search through all the words
Suddenly there are all the letters
There lies all the hurt!

The nature is about me as I cry and laugh
I’ll let this house run on down
As I dash through the dirt
I’m letting all those envelopes vanish in the streams
Watching the current where it goes,
Watching as it breams.
The winds are freezing, but I don’t care
I’ll sprint and I’ll shiver
As the water rises high
I figured out what time it is.

It’s time to do or die.
