Codename: Iceman is an excellent game released by Sierra (my favorite gaming company) a long while ago. I first played it when I was 3 or 4 (contributing to how I learnt to read before school lol) and happened across it again a couple of months ago.

Graphics: 7/10 Yeah they aren't great but look at the time it was made. Like in 1989 or around then. Better graphics than King's Quest 1, 2 and 3 but about the same as 4. But I especially like the detail that went into the control panel of the submarine and various other locations around your vessel.

Control: 8/10 Easy and simple. the num-pad controls your movement (or the arrow keys), and a typing interface also not unlike King's Quest 4. The only couple of problems I find are that in some situations in the game it has an inbuilt clock which speeds up along with the movement speed, therefore you may find yourself looking at a restore, restart or quit screen for no apparent reason. Interface with the submarine controls is fairly simple but you may require the manual to remember which buttons and lights are what.

Gameplay: 8/10 This game is HARD, DIFFICULT and often FRUSTRATING! But fun nonetheless. I cannot stress one thing enough, have a manual by your side. Not only do you need it to decipher some codes but also to work the submarine interface, to understand some terminology and to do or understand all sorts of stuff. There are a couple of different "fun" things to do in the game besides walk and talk. The first is playing "boss dice" which needs to be done to make life much easier when playing the game. The only problem is the game has this little inbuilt protection that stops you from cheating with save/restore. So you get 3 chances and if you lose, then you will have to find the alternative. The second is the battles. You will cry yourself to sleep trying to win these. It is extremely hard and save/restore in between your hits and their misses is a must. But aside the frustration the whole game is very interesting and "challenging"

Overall: 8/10 If you can find it give it a try. But it won't be everyone's cup of tea
