Nocturnal Illusions is one of the few Hentai games to actually have a decent storyline. It in fact, takes horror as its counterpart. Read on to find out why one would not only play this for certain explicit scenes.
Graphics: 9/10. I didn't have any qualms about the graphics in this game. They are fairly straightforward, you are in this room, this is this character and these are your gratuitous scenes. Character designs are well made, the backgrounds can become very creepy (who ever thought a close up of a gate could give you chills?) and basically the whole layout was grand. Adult scenes are above the norm also, some to fit more... mature tastes, weird and wonderful. Nine out of ten because some rooms were exactly the same, lazy animators.
Music: 9/10. I found the music very catchy, even though there were only three or four tunes in the whole game. You have you Psycho-like creepy music for those scary scenes, cheery music for cheery characters, wondrous music for your explicit scenes and just your "walking around the big mansion" tune, which is my favourite. Again for the same reason above (though not the animators fault this time) nine out of ten.
Story: 10/10. How cool is this? Your character begins on a soul searching mission away from the city and gets swept off a mountain (take that you hippie!). He eventually come to his senses and finds himself in a mysterious mansion full of other visitors and staff. That is to say, you, another guy and eight women. Anyway, he meets each these characters, each have their own hidden secret or mysterious past, which you must discover and help them overcome in some way. But as innocent this may sound, this game can get moderately creepy. You have to deal with axe wielding knights, blood-sucking fiends and even an evil Oni. And how are you rewarded for doing these things? Use your imagination, just because it is a horror fiction doesn't mean it has lost all it's charm as a hentai game! There is one slight problem with the game, you will probably need a walk-through or guide to zoom through it fairly quickly otherwise you are going to be doing a lot of random searching. And while the graphics are nice you don't really want to be seeing more than you need to.
Overall: 9/10. Easily better than True Love. Grab it if you're a horror buff or if you just "like" hentai games. |
