I first played Brandish WAY back in the late 90's sometime. Why, why why did I ever bother? Read on to find out why this game is receiving the first one EVER in my reviews to date

Graphics: 1/10
I'm sorry? I thought I was playing a Super Nintendo not an Atari? How is it bad, let me count the ways. One, it's top down. NOT what you do for an RPG, top down games only work in rogue-like's and Real Time Strategy Games. Two, everything looks like a blob. From what I remember there are these green things that are meant to be health or something. Last time I checked, people associate green with POISON. Three, there are no variety in walls and a lot of sprites. C'mon if its going to be a maze crawler put a little bit of variety in. Four, every time you turn your whole perspective follows. What is this? It is atrocious I tell you and enough to make you sick with all this spinning around business. It gets you lost very easily as well.

I have not written a sound section because it was a long time ago and I don't remember the musical score or sound effect but I can assure you that they were not good at all.

Gameplay: 1/10
It's a maze crawling RPG. Unfortunately the mazes seem endless and they've forgotten that RPG's have in-depth stories. I don't even remember the story let alone what this 'hero' is doing in a maze full of green things and dodgy looking monsters. The battle system is very basic. You swing and most likely miss and they swing and probably hit you. From what I remember I avoided fighting like it was out of fashion. So I'm crawling through the maze with little health and no idea where I'm meant to go or what to look for. That's really helpful.
And by the way, no I haven't finished it, I don't think I got past the second level before I got rid of it. So if it gets better, write your own review because my opinion is staying unchanged.

Replayability: Do I bother? If you are so much of a gaming fanatic that you have to play this right to the end... AND AGAIN go ahead. But there is no way I am doing it for you. Sorry.

Overall: 1/10 It'd be 0 but they made the game didn't they?
