Bahamut Lagoon may remind some of Sega's Shining Force games. I think this was Nintendo's first turn based strategy RPG and they've done a smashing job on it!

Graphics: 10/10
Absolutely perfect and ahead of their time. Well the battle graphics anyways. Your characters move reallistically when hit or attacking or any action. Enemy sprites are designed well, scenery looks great. I don't have any problem whatsoever with the graphics.

Sound: 8/10
I can't exactly remember the music now but I do remember enjoying it enough that I didn't put on other music instead. Most battle scenes have a different tune playing as well as themes for different characters and whatnot. Sound effects are also of a high standard, the dragon's screeching is pretty cool

Gameplay: 10/10
Seeing how turn based strategies are my cup of tea I give this part an instant 5 points for not messing it up. In the game you have your story bit where you move Byuu (the main character) around and talk to people, feed your dragons or buy things before moving onto the battle in each chapter.
'Wait a minute... did you say dragons?'. Yes I did. What? do you think a game with bahamut in the title isnt going to have dragons in it? The dragons are the main 'fun' bit in the game. You feed each dragon to increase its attributes in different areas and elements. When you feed it enough it may change form and even grow new powers!
Before battle you can customise each party, having a maximum of 6. You can put any different number of unit types in there including knights, Heavy knights, Priests, mages, summoners, lancers the list goes on. each party is also assigned a dragon, which is controlled by the commands Wait, Go and Stay. Wait will make your dragon stay near you but attack enemies. Go will tell it to charge to whatever enemy it pleases and stay will tell it not to attack and stay out of the way.
Storywise this game is pretty good, except for naming. Your main guy is called Byuu and the girl is called Yoyo. No that isnt a spelling mistake... Yoyo. Batty japanese I tell you... anyways Yoyo is in the line of summoner's who are able to summon the greater dragons and consult with them. Byuu is a Cross knight and also a dragon tamer/rider who has known Yoyo all his life. She is kidnapped after her kingdom is taken over and you get the idea. The rest of the story picks up after this cliche though.

Replayability: 7/10
There are only a few sidequests but these are mainly for money making and levelling up. The actual gameplay is fun enough to go over and over plus you can always see how well you can level up your dragons

Overall: 9/10 Definitely a worthwhile game to play if you like Shining Force
