Riviera is a really good game. I'm done
beating it through the second time.
Storyline: 10/10
A vast adventure starting off with almost succeeding in destroying a
World. Ein, one of the people called Grim Angels, black winged angels
who carried out the will of the gods, is persuaded by Urusala, who
erases Ein's memory and is the goddess of Riviera, and so Ein ends up at
the House of two women. He finds out they're named Lina and Fia. Soon,
they find more friends, Cierra and Serene, a witch and an Arc (black
winged people, but not Grim Angels) respectively. I can't reveal much
more of the storyline or I'll spoil it.
Music: 10/10
The music here is very well. The melodies fit the situations perfectly,
and, YAY, the battle music differs all the time! The music can make you
feel sad or begin to laugh at Riviera's funny moments even more. The
music is really great indeed.
Battle: 10/10
The battle is very intense. People have different uses for items, like
Lina using a scythe, uses Swing Around. Cierra can only throw, like Fia
(for this weapon). Ein can use Mow, and Serene can use Reap. When people
use an item that uses a command besides Throw and usually Eat, they can
learn an Over Skill. Like if Fia uses a Rapier alot, she'll learn
Risouloto, and level up. It's really called Skill up, and it's the only
way to gain stats. People have certain mastery levels, determining how
strong the Over Skill will be. Like, for instance, if Ein uses A bow
called Diana's Bow, he will learn the not-so-great Over Skill Glint
Arrow. If Lina uses the Diana’s Bow a set number of times, she’ll
learn the Level 3 Over Skill Stardust, a very powerful attack. It all
depends on the user. However, you cannot use the skills whenever
you feel like it. You have to fill up the Over Skill Bar. It’s easy to
fill up by sing multi-hit attacks, or by being attacked. The bar has
certain levels, when it’s at max, at Level 3, all Over Skills can be
used. But beware, attacking enemies fills up their Rage Bar, so they can
also release a powerful attack. Riviera’s battle is very intense.
Extras: 10/10
Riviera has so many choices and side Quests, it’s hard to list them
all here. There are many extra thing to get; I only have two
unlocked…I need to know how to get CG gallery! But, anyways, there are
many extra contents viewable from the title screen, once you unlock
them, of course.
Overall: 10/10
Riviera the Promised Land is a definite pick-up. Lush animation and
detail resides in this game. And when you get it, don’t be afraid to
ask for help! |
