This is the beginning of it all. Mario Party.
Storyline: This doesn't matter, as the storyline in this is good, but the game is more based on gameplay. Sorry. -.- '
Gameplay: 10/10
The boards are great. This was the beginning of six other games. This, the first, was the most cruelest of the system. I loved it because of that. People would get coins, then trade 20 coins to get a star at a star space. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. Mario Party becomes so much more complex. The game let a person, up to four, control one of the Mario cast [Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, Wario] and roll a die, and move that many spaces. A blue space got you three coins. Red space, ha ha, you lose three coins! A ? space is a Happening Event, when something on the board affects the player in a good or bad way. An ! space was a Chance space, where two characters would trade their stars or coins resulting in good or bad things. A space with a star on it was a one-player mini game. The spaces also resulted in who would fight each other in mini-games, which happened after all four people went through one of their turns. 1 blue or 1 red vs. 3 red or 3 blue categories (depended on what space a char. landed on) was a one vs. 3 game. 4 blue or red categories meant that it was a free for all. Also two reds vs. two blues was a two vs. two game, co-op. The
person (s, in some cases) who won got ten coins. Once they gt 20 coins, and got to the star space, they would be ahead other players who had no stars. There is much more in this game, but it would take too long to explain.
Music: 10/10
Greatly composed, the music in this is truly memorable. Ending scenes, boards, games, the music is very greatly composed.
Strategy: 10/10
This is not a strategy game, but it requires quick reflexes, and button pressing skills. Everything is this game needs
strategy, where to move, the quickest path to the star, mini-games, Chance
spaces... Mario Party is very Unique.
Overall: 10/10
This is a Mario Party. It is unique. It gave off six other games as well. If you ever see this game, try to but it. Go! But stay in touch for other reviews on this board!
