SpikeyZ Video Game Review for Jade
Empire.
This game is on the X-Box and is an Action-RPG.
The difficulty of this game is Medium.
I give it an 8/10
Jade Empire is an instant RPG Classic for the X-Box.
Graphics - 10/10
This game is based off of old asian martial arts styles. All the graphics
make you feel like you are in China, or in Japan learning all of these
styles. The characters models are superb, even though you can tell some
models they just took the hair off or something like that.
Sound - 10/10
Old chinese music. They used over 1200 sound effects that makes each place
you are feel like you are in China. So far you see a pattern, this game
literally through music and Graphics puts you in the character. The Voice
acting can get annoying sometimes, but they do have good Voice Actors.
Storyline - 8/10
If this was 'Rate the first half of games' Then it will be a 10/10.
You are the top student of your master's school, and on your final day you
find out the story of your life. You knew you were found an orphan, but of
a group of 'Spirit Monks' that controll life and death. Your master gets
kidnapped by the Emperor who is your Master's Brother and you have to go
on a quest to save him. After you complete Chapter Four, the story just
plummets. There are Seven Chapters in the game.
GamePlay - 7/10
A - A - A
A - A - A
That is all you do in any of your styles. They do something like Rock
Paper Sissors
Weak Attacks - A
STrong Attacks - X
Block - B
Weak beats Strong
Strong Beats Block
Block beats Weak
That is how all the fights go.
Other than that the way the game goes is sorta like Morrowind/Oblivion
where you have a 'Main Quest' and then other quests. Doing all the side
quests will give you either Good or Evil points... 'Way of the Open Palm'
or 'Way of the Closed Fist' and have you fight other bosses and gain more
people.
Replay - 5/10
You can play as a Male and Female, but how the game goes is different in
both, but not by much. There is something where you can be Straight, Gay,
or Lesbian for a part of a game. Depending on how you play the game, sorta
like how in parts of FFX you might be talking to one character, but if you
play FFX differently the same part of the game will have you talk to
someone esle. Or in FFVII where Cloud's 'Date' Could be with Aeris, Tifa,
or Barret.
Overall - 8/10
With the whole string of one playthrough and you pretty much did
everything and how all you do is the same thing over and over again this
is how it goes. Also the game is very short. The first three chapters is a
majority of the game. The last four chapters shouldn't take you longer to
beat than Chapter one. The final boss is really a wuss as well. Those are
the few things that took the game down a couple of points, other than
that, Rent, not buy. |
