Multiple Kirby games, each as fun as the last.
Kirby, the loveable pink guy with an insatiable appetite, is back again. Kirby's Super Star for the SNES is a combination of games, two that aren't available in the beginning, that include Kirby and different enemies to face. There's also three mini-games to play on the side. One being a race against the evil King Dee-dee-dee where you will take off across three tracks, trying to collect more food then the King while out running him. The next pits you against three opponents one at a time in a karate-style punch contest, the strongest punch (with an amusing cut scene depending on the power of the punch). The last is a reflex game, where you wait for the cue and take out your opponent in one blow. All three of these are pretty enjoyable.
Then, there's the real games.
The first game is a regular side-scrolling Kirby classic, including the great 'Copying' technique and the 'Helper' ability, which allows you to have an assistant during your journey.
The second being a treasure hunter-strategy game where you'll try to collect as much treasure as you can while getting out alive. Once again, the copying and helper ability works here. You can save your status and go through it to retrace your steps if you wish, also.
The third game available in the beginning is a game where your job is to hunt down a huge mecha-bird. This game looks as though the producers were attempting to pay tribute to Mario 3's map style, where the levels are shown as small dots you can move to and fro, and at points extra enemies will pop up. The whole thing is pretty good.
The Pro's
It's a great, if not the best, Kirby game I've played. There's alot to do here, more than you think, and you'll be hooked on this game until the end. The Helper system allows for a strategy in what power you and the Helper has. The boss's are difficult and challenging, and the secrets are make the game easily replayable.
The Con's
The Spring Breeze and Dynablade worlds are short. Luckily the secrets balance this out. But still, I completed this game in about two days.
I give Kirby Super Star a 9/10. A must-play game for the SNES.
