Platform: Nintendo DS
Genre: FPS
Playtime: 20-40 Hours
Difficulty: Hard

Well this is what you would think to be an average futuristic first person shooter for the Nintendo DS. But that is wrong! This is touch aiming based game that has come through the Metroid Saga.

Gameplay: 9/10
They finally came out with Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS. And I must say that this game is frickin' sweet. Just like in all the rumors that are floating around about the games control. You use the bottom screen to aim your gun. This way it makes it very hard to miss your target. This time the game takes place through more than one planet. Yes you do start off in some space station, and then you have to escape after defeating the boss there. But hey the boss is not that hard. Just aim at the targets while moving, not that hard right? Wrong! It is very hard to keep on one target while moving a lot. But this doesn't mean the controls are hard, just that it is very hard to keep aim while moving. But escaping it the easy part. You have ten mins. to get the heck out of there. But there is a catch, you have to fight these new beings called the hunters. Yes you do have all the weapons that you would think would be in a Metroid game. You have the power beam, the missile, an all of the games twisty weird guns that this game is based on. You do have ammo in this game just like in MP2. But all of the weapons, except the power beam and missile, share the same ammo. OMG this would make you think it is very hard to keep your ammo up, right? Nope! You have a bigger amount of ammo in this game, and ammo is all over the place. Just FYI, you have about 10 different weapons in this game. 8 of which are the extra weapons. There is the electro lob (I think that is the name), which is the only locking weapon in the game, which shocks the target to death, with the great abundance of ammo, you can kill a boss with out running out. There is an ice beam that shoots like a sniper, but it bounces off wall, so if you miss, you have a chance of still hitting something. But one thing disappoints me. There is not a many morph ball mazes or puzzles. Even thought there are still some, and they get very tough. There are only two types of visors, combat and scan. There is another type of control, which plays just like any other FPS, what's the fun in that with a touch screen?

Story: 8/10
Well this game starts off like all other Metroids, Samus is in her gun ship, receiving a mission. This time it is about a telepathic message was sent by mysterious beings about "The key to the ultimate power lies in the Ambilic Cluster" So the federation sends Samus to look into this. Once there she encounters other rival hunters to get this power. Now she must search for clues to find this power. Just like in other Metroid games, you don't have text while in the middle of a game to tell you what is happening. You just have a little face off. Just as others, you just go around collecting stuff to get to the final boss. So It is hard to make out a story in this game. But you do have all the scans that tell you what has happened before you got there.

Graphics: 10/10
This is a Metroid game, the graphics will be good for this game. I have found that everything has detail. Including little icons. So far as I can see there are no slow downs. There seem to be no misplaced polygons in the game. But they are missing one thing, the water effects on the visor's

Music: 6/10
There is hardly any music in the game, but when there is music it is okay. There is none of that fast paced music to make you run for your life into a wall kind of music. If there is music for exploring, I just don't hear it or it is all of those sounds that sound like something creeping up on me.

Sound: 9/10
Well the sound....sounds good! Most of all the killing sounds, sound realistic. If you shoot a spiky thing, it sounds like a spiky thing dieing. And that sniper ice weapon I talked about earlier, I makes this cool metal/icy bounce sound. If you use headphones, the game has an option for surround like sound, so you can hear anything anywhere! And the sniper/ice weapon, sounds so cool bouncing all over the place in surround like sound.

Overall: 9/10
Yes I do seem to buy all of the expected to be good games. So! They are good. This is one of those games! Buy it ASAP!
