This is a super cool thing I found out while
playing this game
FIRST part of business you need to have completed the
Sun/Moonstone
side-quest and the rainbow shell side-quest done (explained
here)
SUN\MOONSTONE Part 1
when you get the EPOCH( Wings of Time) and the old man at
the end of time give you the message of all those quests
that need to be done( Lofty Knight In ruins, woman's sheer
determination brings a forest back to life, etcetera, etcetera
Go to the year 2300 and fly until you see an island with a
cave AND an Empire State Building like structure in ruins Go
in the cave to see an Orb like creature. Approach it. (you
will need ether good eye coordination or lots of mid/full
tonics to beat this guy. He creates 5 fire balls around him
for protection. The key here is to NOT EVER attack the Son
of Sun (orb) but to attack the right fireball. if you attack
the right fireball you will do 213-216 damage to the Orb.
BEWARE the fireballs do spin and if you have good eye
coordination you will see the right fireball after the spin.
if you hit a wrong fireball you will suffer due to its flame
counterattack.
After beating the son of sun chase it up to the altar and it
will turn into the moonstone.
SUN/MOONSTONE part 2
After obtaining the moonstone go fly to the year 65,000,000
BC and search for the island with a cave. If you arrive at
the sun keep you have gotten to the right area. place the
moonstone in the sunlight.
leave and go to the year 1000 AD. At the sun keep there you
will find out that someone stole the sun stone (evil
persons)! Go fly around and in one of the towns you will see
a Glimmering house. Go in there And if you've been here
before you will know that this is the house of the money
hungry mayor of that town. To get it back from the mayor
stay in the town until you find the guy with the jerky. buy
it, leave and then on fly to 600 AD and go in that same
house as the mayor lives in (only this house is in 600 AD.
Talk to the lady that needs jerky and will buy it for 10000
gp. Instead say you will give it to her for free. She then
says all of her children will learn your kind ways. (the
mayor in the 1000 AD town is a descendent of that lady). Fly
back to 1000 AD and Discover that the mayor is now super
generous the mayor just gives the moonstone just like that!
Return to the sun keep and place the moonstone in the sun
for its final years of energizing. Fly to the year 2300 to
the sun keep( Not the sun palace where you fought the son of
sun) and Grab the orb.
SUN/MOONSTONE part 3
Return to 1000 AD with Lucca in the party. Go to lucca's
house to extract all the energy from the stone. you get an
item from Taban, too
Now you have to do the Rainbow shell side-quest now
RAINBOW SHELL part 1
to get the rainbow shell you must first go to the year 600
and fly to the town with the northern ruins. find the bar
where Toma the adventurer( guy with the red headband on. He
tells you if he doesn't return from finding the Rainbow
Shell pour this pop on his grave. You get Toma's Pop. Fly
back to the year 1000 and in that same town look for the
tombstone. go to it and pour the pop on it. his ghost
appears and tells you you can find the rainbow shell in the
Giants Claw (this area will now open up to you).
RAINBOW SHELL part 2
fly back to the year 600 and find the giants claw. If you
now have noticed this is the Tyranno Lair ruins from
65,000,000 BC. I am not going to go through all the details
but I will explain the boss.
The Rust Tyranno
this prehistoric beast you should have met before. he was
the boss of the Tyranno Lair. Being quite easier than before
he should be a cincher.
Just use Crono's Luminare allot and you should be fine.
After his final defeat. go get the rainbow shell. Unfortunately
for you it is far to heavy.
As you run back out of the cave you are warped to the castle
of Guardia. the king promises he will store it as a national
treasure.
now having completed both tasks lets move on to a big scene
where you should meet some friends of the past.
FALSE CHARGES part1
Return to the year 1000 with Marle in the party. go to the
Guardia castle and you will find that the Chancellor has now
accepted Crono as no threat BUT the king is being accused of
Stealing a Royal Treasure (Rainbow shell) and selling it.
you will now see a room you haven't seen before. the
basement. Unfortunately a guard is there for the time being.
Go up the stairs to find Guards standing in front of a door.
Marle yells at them to move it. you go through the doors you
will enter the courtroom (as before) and find the king being
accused of stealing a treasure from the castle. HELP PROVE
HE IS INNOCENT!!! Go downstairs. you can do that now.
FALSE CHARGES part 2
When you are downstairs you see the guard laying down saying
he was bitten by a rat. advance further in the basement and
will meet some old friends from the 600 AD cathedral. The
Nagettes and the Gnashers. fight them and continue on into
the Rainbow Shell room. Marle grabs a shard of the shell to
prove that it wasn't stolen. return to the courtroom doors
only to find the doors are now guarded by more persistent
guards and will not let you through. BIG SCENE TIME!
FALSE CHARGES part 3
I have no idea how she did it but just as the courtroom was
about to place the king under arrest Marle jumps through the
stain glass window along with the rest of the party. they
show the shard to the judge and he changes the verdict to
NOT GUILTY. But that doesn't stop the FAKE chancellor from
overthrowing the king. he reveals himself as...
YAKRA VIII?! This guy is a lot harder than YAKRA I. Same
attacks, More Powerful and Way More HP. Not really any
attack changes. Defeat him and that is the last time you
will see him again.
Now about the real Chancellor. Go back to the courtroom and
look for the YAKRA key. then look for a locked chest. HAHA!
chancellor in the Chest.
Now about the sword...
Go down to the basement again and to the Shell room. You
will find MELCHOIR there Give him the Extracted Energy from
the Sunstone. He will then make you the Rainbow Sword
INFO ----
Attack.... I think around 230 but I'm not sure
Special...70% Critical hit rate.
As well Melchoir will also make you ether 3 prism Helms or 1
prism dress. ( I suggest the dress because nothing can
surpass the defense of the dress while some thing surpass
the helms).
