Cheats & Guides

Being a PC game, there are heaps and heaps and heaps of possible cheats in this game, to make it easier to travel, create NPCs, acquire items, increase your stats, and so on. I don't know them all, but I do know a few of them which can certainly make your game easier, more interesting, or get you past a tough bit.

Cheat Console

To open up the cheat console where everything is done, simply press the ` key on the top left of your keyboard. The cheat console will appear and you can unleash havoc immediately.

Unlocking Doors

Open up the cheat console, then click on a locked object. Type in 'unlock' and hit enter, and the object will instantly be unlocked. Makes things much easier for those who don't use Security.

Changing Stats

To change any of your stats, open up the console and type in this following:

'player -> set*stat* *number*'

So to increase your Athletics skill to 100, for example, you'd put:

'player -> setathletics 100'

This works for all skills, stats, and even your Health, Magicka, and Fatigue. Have fun...

Get extra gold

To get extra gold, open up the console and type in the following: 'player -> additem gold_100 *number*'  This will instantly give you that number of gold coins. However, sometimes it doesn't give the exact number, especially when the inputted number is considerably large. Nonetheless, just plug it in a few times to get that amount anyway.

Water Walking/Breathing

If you're sick of drowning in an underwater passage or don't want to swim all the way to Sheogorad, simply plug in one of the following:

'player -> setwaterwalking 1'
'player -> setwaterbreathing 1'

If you need to switch these off for whatever reason, just type the code in again but substitute the 1 for 0.

Hopefully these will enhance your Morrowind experience somewhat.
