Oddly enough I was fooling around in the area where the screen moves very quickly and ALL of the enemies you see are orange.
When I was going down the large diagonal area that gets narrower
by the moment I got to the bottom where there is kind of a dip with 4
enemies in it. I went into that dip, thought I was going to crash BUT
the whole level exploded when (like after defeating a boss) when I ran into a wall and I was transported to weird brick-like level. This is a place where you can earn massive bonus points by collecting the yellow power-ups ranging from 200 to 1000 or 10000 points. Although the screen doesn't move quite as fast it's a good idea to move rather fast from being sandwiched by the screen and walls.
This is the only bonus area I know of BUT I am sure there
is more.
